how do i form a union at work?
1. know your rights, speak to colleagues
Use our Know your Rights guide to Identify key issues and ask your co-workers what they think could be better at work. Things like wages or break time will of course be the big issues for many workers, but there will often be others. Issues that most of your co-workers feel strongly about will be a strong basis for bringing your co-workers together!
2. JOIN A UNION, JOIN UNITE
Joining a union gives you protection in the workplace, but it also means that our team of trained reps can give you assistance and advice about building up union support. Building union membership amongst your co-workers puts you in a stronger position to collectively bargain with your employer. This is how we can win better pay and conditions!
